US$0,69

UU.

Pauta a costo competitivo

Dutch searches Beyond can’t answer yet

“auto huren curaçao”, “autoverhuur curaçao” and “huurauto curaçao” add up to 11,380 searches a month in the Netherlands and 2,700 on the island. The site is English-only and was not in Google’s Dutch top 10 for “auto huren curaçao”.

#2

Visible in English, not ready to convert

Beyond appeared second for “car rental curacao” in our check, which is a real asset. But the site has no analytics or conversion tracking, the homepage weighs about 8.6 MB, and Google lists its “Maintenance” page, which says the website is under construction, among the sitelinks.

$0.69

Cheap clicks are not where the volume is

Top-of-page bids run $0.69–2.71 in Brazil and $0.71–2.26 in Argentina, against $1.39–4.26 in the US. But those two markets add 2,980 searches a month between them, while the island offers 6,560 — and it is the only market where competition is medium, not high.

How travelers search

Google groups close variants (“car rental” and “car hire”, “curacao” and “curaçao”) under one number. Each group is counted once.

  • Dutch travelers search in Dutch. “auto huren curaçao” (8,100 a month in the Netherlands) is the biggest single search in this study, ahead of “car rental curacao” in the US (6,600).
  • Airport is the second intent everywhere: 3,790 searches a month, and the most expensive to bid on.
  • All of Latin America — Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador — adds 4,340 searches a month, less than a third of the Netherlands alone, and it searches in Spanish and Portuguese.
  • Beyond’s own promises already have Dutch demand: “zonder borg” (no deposit), “lange termijn” (long-term) and “studenten” (students and interns).
  • Competitors are searched by name 10,340 times a month. D&D Car Rental alone gets about 2,280 across four markets, De Vos about 1,830.
  • Jeep searches (270 in the US, 260 in the Netherlands) don’t match the current fleet. Keep them out of ads unless the fleet changes.

South America is the fastest-growing region, and the least measured

Stayover arrivals from South America grew 20.4% to 115,443 between January and July 2026, now 22.6% of all arrivals (Curaçao Tourist Board). Aerolíneas Argentinas opens Buenos Aires–Curaçao on 2 January 2027 with four weekly flights through 29 March.

The trap

Arrivals are not searches. The six Latin American markets together produce 4,340 car-rental searches a month — 28% of what the Netherlands alone produces, while contributing 22.6% of arrivals. Argentina: 23,924 arrivals, 1,190 searches. Brazil: 26,416 arrivals, 1,790 searches. Ecuador: 3,175 arrivals, 30 searches. These travelers mostly arrive on packages or book through agencies and aggregators instead of searching for a rental company by themselves.

Ecuador is the exception twice over: arrivals down 5.4%, and 30 searches a month — the smallest measured demand of the ten markets.

Organic search: what to fix and build

Beyond already has what many competitors pay for: a 5.0 rating from 101 Google reviews and a page-one English ranking. The work is to stop leaking that traffic and to open the Dutch door.

Fix now

Weeks 1–2
  1. Remove the “Maintenance” page (it says “website under construction”) and the five empty vehicle-category pages (they display “Geen resultaten gevonden”) from Google and from the sitemap.
  2. Install GA4 and Google Ads conversion tracking for completed bookings, WhatsApp clicks and phone clicks.
  3. Write a title and meta description for every page (none exist today) and an H1 that says “Car rental in Curaçao”.
  4. Compress the car photos: each weighs 1.3–1.6 MB and loads twice. Aim for under 150 KB in WebP.
  5. Make the business facts match everywhere: the Kaya Arembos 14 address (the site still says “Netherlands Antilles”), opening hours (Google lists closing at 5 pm, the site says 24/7), working Facebook and Instagram links, and the site language set to English instead of Dutch.

Build

Weeks 3–8
  1. A Dutch version of the site, starting with the homepage, prices and airport page. Target: auto huren, autoverhuur and huurauto curaçao, 14,080 searches a month.
  2. An airport page in English and Dutch: 3,790 searches a month across markets.
  3. Pages for the places Beyond already serves: Jan Thiel, Willemstad and the cruise terminal, and the resorts on the pickup list (Sandals, Marriott, Avila, Blue Bay, Coral Estate, Dreams, Elements).
  4. One page per car with real rates, replacing the empty categories, plus AutoRental structured data (address, hours, prices, rating).
  5. An FAQ in English and Dutch: deposit, insurance, minimum age (23), fuel policy, delivery.

Grow

Months 2–4
  1. Confirm owner access to the Google Business Profile (Google shows “Own this business?” on it) and ask every renter for a review through WhatsApp.
  2. Show the 101 Google reviews on the website. Today it has none, while competitors lead with theirs.
  3. Get listed on the Dutch sites that rank for “auto huren curaçao”, such as ANWB and Reisjunk, and on partner-resort pages.
  4. Publish Dutch pages that match Beyond’s promises: long-term rental, rental for students and interns, and no-deposit rental.

Paid search at a competitive cost

A low cost per booking comes from buying the searches where Beyond has an edge, and not paying for the ones it already wins organically.

Before the first dollar

Conversion tracking, a Dutch landing page and owner access to the Google Business Profile (it powers the location in ads). Without them Google can’t optimize, and nobody can prove the return.

United States
The largest English pool (9,290 a month), but the highest bids ($1.39–4.26, airport up to $6.63), the shortest stays, and Beyond already appears organically. Test once the pilot proves the booking rate.
Canada
The cheapest English clicks ($0.80–2.33) and +46% interest in the last three months as winter approaches. First market to add.
Brazil and Argentina
The cheapest clicks measured ($0.69–2.71 and $0.71–2.26) and the fastest-growing arrivals (+11% and +79%), but only 2,980 searches a month between them, in Portuguese and Spanish. A $3-a-day test once tracking is live and there is a Spanish landing page.
Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador
950, 190, 190 and 30 searches a month. Too small for their own campaigns; they ride along in the Spanish test.

How we would work, and what it costs

Six months, split into phases. Fee paid monthly in advance; ad spend paid by Beyond directly to Google, never through the agency.

Terms

  • Six months, renewing in three-month blocks, either side can exit with 30 days’ notice.
  • Fee monthly in advance; campaigns pause after five days of non-payment.
  • Google Ads, Analytics and Business Profile accounts belong to Beyond; the agency works as administrator and hands over access at the end.
  • No promise of results — Google’s own policies forbid it. What is committed: the deliverables, the optimisation cadence and the monthly report.
  • Scope is closed; anything outside it is quoted separately before it starts.

What we need from Beyond

  1. Average rental length and booking value, ideally by customer country.
  2. Fleet size and how full it gets each month.
  3. Who has owner access to the Google Business Profile.
  4. Whether customers can book without a credit card (debit or cash). “zonder creditcard” gets 80 Dutch searches a month.
  5. Real opening hours, and how 24/7 pickup works in practice.

Micro-seasons: when to move the budget

Curaçao does not have one high season and one low season. It has markets that arrive at different times, stay for different lengths and search in different languages. A flat budget all year overpays in January and wastes money in October.

The number that reorders everything: not arrivals, nights

A car is not rented per visitor, it is rented per day. Multiply arrivals by each market’s average stay and the ranking flips.

Canada7,58211.083,402———
Colombia———4,5235.323,972

In January the Netherlands generates 2.9 times the nights the United States does, with only 35% more visitors. In May, 2.3 times. It is the same market that already holds 40% of search demand — and it searches in a language Beyond’s site does not speak.

The market nobody is watching

Canada

7,582 arrivals in January, growing 26% — the fastest growth among the large markets. They stay 11 nights, nearly twice as long as an American. With less than half the arrivals of the US, they produce 72% of its nights. And the click costs $0.80–2.33, the cheapest of the English-speaking markets: 42% to 45% below the United States. That is 2,990 searches a month nobody on the island is seriously contesting.

The low season is not low for everyone

In June, the weakest month measured, the United States fell 6% while the Netherlands grew 22% and Colombia 24%. A local competitor is already discounting up to 15% between 3 September and 9 December. Cutting prices in that window means competing with the discounter; advertising in Dutch means capturing the one market still growing through it.

The search peak comes from the Keyword Planner 12-month curve (Sept 2025 – Aug 2026). The arrival season comes from the Curaçao Tourist Board. Where the two coincide there is no lead-time window to exploit: you bid when the people arrive.

What is still missing to close the calendar

  • Brazil’s September peak contradicts a December-to-April arrival season. Either Brazilians book three months ahead — which would be the only real lead-time window in this study — or the figure was misread. It needs re-checking in Keyword Planner before any budget goes to it.
  • The board does not publish March and April separately. Both values in the chart are derived by subtraction; the half-year total is official.
  • The market breakdown for July through November is missing. With it the calendar goes from monthly to weekly.
  • Beyond’s own numbers are missing: average rental length and fleet occupancy by month. Without them there is no way to know which week the cars run out — which is when the ads should be turned down, not up.

Method and sources

  • Google Ads Keyword Planner, 11–12 September 2026. Ten seed keywords in English, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese and German; one run per market with its main language (Netherlands and Curaçao in Dutch, US and Canada in English, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador in Spanish, Brazil in Portuguese). Average monthly searches, September 2025 to August 2026. Google groups close variants under one figure, so each group is counted once. Canada and the five Latin American markets include keywords from 20 searches a month up; the other markets go down to 10.
  • Bids converted from Colombian pesos at 3,100 COP per USD (official rate on 10 September 2026: 3,099.48).
  • Website review in Chrome on 11 September 2026: sitemap, every indexable page, page weight and tracking scripts. Load figures come from one desktop session and are indicative, not a lab test.
  • Rankings and ads observed in single Google sessions on 11 September 2026, with language and country set per market. Personalization can move positions; Search Console should confirm them.
